The Director General is the chief executive officer and legal representative of the Center with full powers to administer the Center according to instructions given by the Council.

The Director General is elected by the Assembly for a term of four years and may be re-elected for another term. DG's deputies are elected by the Council for a term of three years.

 

 

The current Interim Administrator (Acting Director General) of ICPE is Ambassador Andrej Logar. He was elected by the ICPE Assembly in its 20th session and assumed office on 15 May 2019 for a period of one year, until the election of Director General.

2017: State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2013-2017: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations in New York,

• chaired the UN General Assembly Second Committee,

• facilitated drafting of final document for the 1st World Conference on Indigenous Peoples,

• facilitated aligning of daily agenda of UN bodies with final documents, adopted in the last two years

2010-2013: Head of Department for International Organisations at Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2005-2010: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the UN Office and other International Organisations in Geneva,

• chaired the UN Social Forum,

• Vice President of the UN Human Rights Council,

• chaired the Working Group for Accession of Montenegro to the World Trade Organisation,

• Honorary Dean at Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations
