On the 9th of October 2012, Mr. Nenad Stankovic, ICPE Representative in Vienna, participated in the Briefing Session on World Conference on International Telecommunications, organized by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva. That world conference presents a key opportunity to increase collaboration between countries, to help countries reach new levels of economic and social development through efficient telecom services, and to make the International Telecommunication Regulations more relevant and valuable to ITU members, to help them respond to the challenges of a fast-evolving ICT environment. Besides very successful participation in the briefing Session, Mr. Stankovic also realized official visits to ITU (International Telecommunication Union), UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), ITC (International Trade Centre) and ILO (International Labour Organization).

During his visit to ITU, Mr. Stankovic met Dr. Hamadoun I. Toure, Secretary-General of ITU, Mr. Houlin Zhao, Deputy Secretary-General of ITU and Mr. Brahima Sanou, Director of ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau. In discussion with those ITU high-level officials, he presented organization and new ICPE Programmes, informed about ICPE efforts to refresh some activities and underlined the high level of importance which ICPE is giving to the cooperation with international organizations in different technical-economic fields, including different kind of trainings, knowledge management and human capacity buildings. After active and very successful discussions Dr. Toure, Mr. Zhao and Mr. Sanou appreciated the meeting with Mr. Stankovic and expressed interest for co-operation with ICPE. It was agreed that concrete modalities and fields of co-operation between two organizations will be defined/developed with ITU colleagues responsible for specific topics and with strong support of ITU Management.
