On Monday, 9 September 2013, HE Mr Bwalya S.K. Chiti, Ambassador of Zambia to the Republic of Slovenia, paid an official visit to ICPE to discuss new possibilities of cooperation between the ICPE member state Zambia and the Center. Mr Chiti is on official visit to Slovenia, where he has presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor.
The frutiful discussion between the Ambassador Chiti and the Acting Director General of ICPE, Mr Janez Podobnik has set a new pace in the development of collaboration. During the meeting it was assessed, that Zambia has been an inactive Member State in the last years but they have a firm intent to re-establish their membership as an active member with the support of the Ambassador.
ICPE Acting Director General confirmed that his team will prepare a Memorandum of Understanding - Action Plan, with concrete proposals and further steps, including the possibilities of short term training programmes and the International MBA Programme for the participants from Zambia.

Both parties agreed that Zambian participants, if registered, should be accepted in the Sustainable Energy Solutions Training by UNIDO, which will be conducted between 12-19 November 2013. Mr Podobnik assured that ICPE Member state candidates should be a priority for the nominations.
At the end of the meeting Mr Podobnik informed the Ambassador that he will write him an official letter of intent, to prepare the grounds for MoU signing and the continuation of the fostering collaboration in the renewal of active membership by Zambia.
