Official visit of Mr Li Yong, UNIDO Director General to Slovenia

On 8th of April 2014, Mr Li Yong, UNIDO Director General and delegation, met with the ICPE team at a working dinner during their official visit to the Republic of Slovenia.

Mr Janez Podobnik, ICPE Acting Director General warmly welcomed Director General and shortly presented the history of the cooperation between ICPE and UNIDO which traces its origins in 1979 when the Memorandum of Understanding in Vienna was signed. In November 2013, ICPE in cooperation with UNIDO implemented a professional development training on Sustainable Energy Solutions and in December 2013, signed a Joint Communique to intensify the cooperation.

As a token of appreciation, Mr Podobnik gave to Mr Li recently issued special edition of the Public Enterprise Journal on Economic Diplomacy and Internationalisation.

DG Mr Li emphasized the importance of education, youth, gender equality, as well as inclusive and sustainable development. As a conclusion UNIDO Director General expressed gratitude for the ICPE dinner gathering and wishes to intensify the further cooperation with ICPE.
