ICPE ADG visited Skopje, Macedonia, 14 - 16 July 2014

ICPE Acting Director General, Mr. Janez Podobnik, visited Skopje, the capital city of the Republic of Macedonia, between 14 – 16 July 2014. The aim of the visit was to straighten the cooperation between ICPE and Macedonia on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Macedonia becoming a member state of the ICPE.
Mr. Podobnik during the visit met with representatives of the Macedonian government, representatives of the City of Skopje as well as of the Economic Chamber of Commerce. Namely, besides others, ADG met with: Mr. Vladimir Pesevski, Deputy President of the Government of Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Hristijan Delev, Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr. Koce Trajanovski, Mayor of the City Skopje and Mr. Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
The ICPE Acting Director General presented the work of the ICPE and proposed his interlocutors the preparation of a one-year Action Plan with concrete suggestions of projects and activities that would Macedonia consider important.
Concretly, ADG presented the possibility of the preparation of the 4th International Conference on Economic Diplomacy and Internationalization at the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015. Macedonia already has a successful model of the Economic Diplomacy therefore they welcomed the suggestion. Mr. Podobnik also presented the Project "Low-cost Solar Industrial Heat in Macedonia" to be implemented in cooperation with UNIDO, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Slovenia and the company TALUM and coordianted by ICPE. The Macedonian representatives expressed a great interest in the project.
Mr. Podobnik met with H.E. Mr. Branko Rakovec, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia to Macedonia, who greatly supported the official visit of ICPE to Macedonia.
