ICPE - Republic of Macedonia meeting during the BSF (Bled, Slovenia, 1-2 September 2014)

The Macedonian delegation was headed by Mr. Nikola Poposki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia. H.E. Tomi Dimitrovski, Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the Republic of Slovenia, also attended the meeting. The ICPE delegation was headed by the ICPE Acting Director General Janez Podobnik.

During the talks the ICPE representatives presented ICPE's main activities - long-term education program, short-term trainings, conferences, symposia, expert meetings and publishing activities, particularly in the field of energy efficiency, economic diplomacy, e-governance and civil registry.

Additionally, the discussion between the two delegations touched on the concrete procedures for the implementation of the project "Low-Cost Solar Industrial Heat in Macedonia" to be conducted by ICPE in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Macedonian public authorities and the Talum company.

Economic diplomacy and the internationalization of national economy has also been identified as a key area of cooperation between ICPE and the Republic of Macedonia as an ICPE member state. The Macedonian side expressed its support for organizing a joint event on these topics in Skopje as a follow-up of the successful previous editions of the international conference on Economic Diplomacy and Internationalization organized in Slovenia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
