On 2 September 2014 ICPE representatives held talks with the delegation of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, one of the founding states of ICPE, within the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia in Bled, Slovenia, between 1-2 September 2014.
The Sri Lankan delegation was headed by the Minister of External Affairs Prof. Gamini Lakshman Peiris (M.P.). H.E. Aliyar Lebbe Abdul Azeez, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Slovenia, also took part in the discussions. The ICPE delegation was headed by ICPE Acting Director General Janez Podobnik.

The discussion outlined the projects to be jointly implemented by ICPE and entities of Sri Lanka’s governmental institutions and bodies especially regarding the short-term trainings and participation of public servants from Sri Lanka in the ICPE international MBA Program, as well as Sri Lanka’s active participation in projects devoted to economic diplomacy.
The development of human resources with a stress on youth and women was one of the main subjects raised during the meeting. ICPE reaffirmed its commitment to continue implementing projects targeting the youth and representation of women.
