ICPE ADG Janez Podobnik visited the ECPD Headquarters, Serbia

On 26 - 27 September 2014, ICPE Acting Director General, Mr. Janez Podobnik visited The European Center for Peace and Development (ECPD) in Belgrade, Serbia.
Mr. Podobnik was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Negoslav P. Ostojic, ECPD Executive Director, and his team. At the meeting they assessed the previous cooperation as well as the plans for future cooperation. A Memorandum of Understanding between ICPE and ECPD was signed already in May 2010 while an Annex to the MoU was signed in spring 2014. The two institutions have been particularly successful in the exchanging of expert knowledge in the field of Economic Diplomacy, Energy Efficiency and Quantum Medicine.

It was agreed that in 2015 ICPE in cooperation with ECPD prepares an International seminar on current challenges in the field of the internationalization of the Economy and Economic Diplomacy, emphasizing the role of the South-Eastern European countries.
The possibility of cooperation with the international organizations, such as UNIDO, UNCTAD, with whom ICPE already maintains excellent contacts, by taking into account the
expert and logistics potentials of cooperation, especially in the field of health management, civil status registry and tourism, was considered.
ECPD will as well collaborate with the ICPE regional office in Sarajevo that will start its official functioning in the forthcoming period. 
Acting Director General Podobnik stressed the importance of an active cooperation between ECPD and ICPE member states, such as Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, as well some Arab states as Iraq, Libya and Egypt.
Executive Director Dr. Ostojic invited Janez Podobnik to participate in the 10th International ECPD conference on "Reconciliation, Tolerance and Human Security in the Balkans" to be held between on 24 - 25 October 2014.
