On Friday, 17 October 2014, ICPE Acting Director General and his team met with the high level delegation from Uganda, led by Hon. Engineer Ms. Irene Muloni, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development.
ICPE expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia for making the meeting possible. The delegation from Uganda consisted of the Head of the Embassy to Slovenia, several high level officials from Public Sector Enterprises and other agencies in Uganda, namely the Rural Electrification Agency, Uganda Electricity Regulatory Authority and Uganda Electricity Transmission Company.
The meeting began with a detailed presentation of ICPE Activities in the field of energy efficiency and projects related to low cost solar energy heating. Executive Manager Mr Tomaž Rogelj presented the Civil Status registration project as well as some projects ICPE is organizing in cooperation with UNIDO, such as trainings on Sustainable Energy Solutions. A detailed presentation followed by the Ugandan delegation, with special emphasis on possibilities of investments to Uganda, the Hon Engineer Minister Muloni briefly informed the ICPE about the mineral policy of Uganda and the opportunities that could be fostered in this regard.

At the conclusion of the meeting The Ambassador to Slovenia, H.E. Ms Grace Akello pointed out that she wishes to be present at the annual ICPE Council meeting. ICPE ADG Mr Podobnik was glad to hear the interest from Uganda to participate at the meeting as an observer state and happily informed the Ambassador that ICPE will send an invitation letter to Her Excellency at the earliest.
