ICPE HOSTED A CONCERT OF INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC, 20 JANUARY 2015

In front of a packed ICPE auditorium, a concert of sarod classical Indian music was held this Tuesday evening. Maestro Prabhat Kumar (on sarod), a world famous Indian musician, was accompanied by Abhishek Mishra (tabla) and Alankar Mahtolia (tanpura), and played a selection of ragas, taking the audience on a colorful journey of feelings.

The concert was organized as the first of a series of events, commemorating the Indian Republic Day. The “2nd Days of India in Slovenia” are organized by the Embassy of India in Ljubljana in cooperation with the Indian-Slovene Friendship Association and the RTA Agency. Maestro Prabhat Kumar’s concerts were sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

ICPE, as an intergovernmental organization, which at its peak united over 40 member states, has always been a busy crossroad. Not only sharing knowledge and experience in the field of good governance, management of public enterprises, public-private partnerships, economic diplomacy, or energy efficiency, ICPE’s training programs and events always enable participants to learn about each other’s cultures: ways of living in the world and ways of thinking about the world. At ICPE we are honored that we had the opportunity to host our member state’s renowned musicians and to provide space for learning about, and enjoying in the Indian classical music.
