A delegation of the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), led by Mr Jure Tomc, Advisor to ICPE Management, undertook an official visit to Manila, Philippines, as part of a specialized trade and partnership mission titled “Slovenian Water Technology – Safe and Clean Water for Every Filipino.” Organized in cooperation with private sector and institutional partners, the initiative aimed to promote advanced Slovenian water solutions and facilitate cooperation with Philippine stakeholders in the areas of sustainable water infrastructure, smart metering, and technology transfer.
The central event, held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Manila, brought together over 50 representatives from government agencies, leading financial institutions, utilities, private companies, and international organizations. Presentations featured Slovenian innovations in nanobubble-based water treatment and intelligent metering technologies, designed to address local challenges such as access to potable water, wastewater management, and efficient monitoring of water resources.
The mission also included a series of targeted high-level meetings with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the European Chamber of Commerce, the Asian Development Bank, and leading Philippine financial institutions. These engagements explored opportunities for joint project implementation, investment mechanisms, and policy alignment in support of sustainable water management.
Complementing the official agenda was a dedicated B2B session that facilitated direct interaction between Slovenian technology providers and local stakeholders, paving the way for potential pilot deployments. Discussions are currently underway for several collaborative projects.
ICPE played an important role in facilitating these exchanges, reinforcing its mandate to support practical partnerships that advance innovation, enterprise development, and inclusive access to essential services. The visit also served to strengthen bilateral ties between the host country of ICPE, Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Philippines, reflecting shared commitments to environmental sustainability, technology-driven development, and capacity building.
