The International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE) is pleased to invite enterprises, startups and research institutions from countries in Africa to apply for a new 12-month grant aimed at strengthening food safety within informal markets. By fully financing up to €60 000 per project, this initiative will foster practical, field-driven solutions that enhance traceability, reduce contamination and promote healthier supply chains across the continent.
Programme Highlights
Scope of Support: Testing, validation and scaling of innovations addressing mycotoxins, pesticide residues, microbial hazards, food adulteration and value-chain traceability.
Implementation Framework: Three phases—Design (3 months), Development (6 months), Validation (3 months)—with milestone-based payments (30 / 50 / 20 %).
Technology Readiness: Projects must advance from TRL 4 to at least TRL 6, incorporating “living lab” field testing with a minimum of 10 end-users and a public demonstration engaging at least 30 stakeholders.
Simplified Administration: Digital submission in English, proposal and budget templates (10-page limit).
