ICPE Meeting with Ambassador of Tanzania in Vienna

On 15 October 2026, Mr David Tavželj, Executive Director and Dr Nenad Stanković, ICPE Representative in Vienna met with H.E. Naimi S.H. Aziz, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Austria, to discuss ICPE’s current activities and prospects for establishing a basis for cooperation with Tanzania.

The ICPE representatives presented the organisation’s mandate and programme activities, alongside its institutional rebuilding and modernisation in recent years. Special attention was given to ICPE’s strategic transition towards project development and implementation, with a stronger emphasis on translating institutional cooperation into practical initiatives that respond to the priorities of its Member States.

The exchange considered how this approach could provide a basis for closer engagement with Tanzania, drawing on ICPE’s current projects and cooperation with partner institutions and enterprises. Ambassador Aziz outlined several of Tanzania’s priorities, and the discussion identified water management and agriculture as areas in which cooperation could be explored further. These fields will provide the initial focus for examining the relevance of ICPE’s experience and ongoing project engagements to Tanzanian needs.

As a next step, ICPE will share detailed information with the Embassy on its current projects in both sectors. This will support further examination by Tanzanian counterparts and provide a basis for follow-up discussions on possible cooperation.
