Three-day conference was held at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and it will end today at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Zbogar opened the regular Annual Conference for Economic Advisers, working in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Slovenia. Mr Zbogar said in his speech that economic diplomacy is gaining the ground as an appropriate instrument for action and that there is also a need to make more effort for its further efficiency gains. In doing so, expectations are high not only of economic advisers, but also of the managers of individual offices.
The conference continued with presentations of representatives of the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development of the Republic of Slovenia, Slovenian Corruption Prevention Commission and the Slovenian Tourist Board.
On the second day DG of ICPE dr. Šalej and his Special Advisor Amb. Zvone Dragan attended the conference. In addition to representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Ministry of the Economy of Slovenia and Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments, Dr Šalej presented ICPE’s activities, its mission and vision and current projects, explained ICPE’s Public Sector Enterprises focus and the future events. He emphasized that ICPE provides exchange of valuable experiences for wider benefits, offering sincere partnership to its member states and other partners.
In the afternoon, there were individual meetings with economic advisers and representatives of the Slovenian companies.
Today, the conference will conclude with the subjects of internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises. In the workshop the economic advisors will prepare a plan of support measures for the entry of Slovenian companies in individual foreign markets.
