Preparatory Meeting Held for EU Global Gateway Energy Initiative

The International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE) participated in an online preparatory meeting with international partners to discuss the development of a project proposal under the European Union’s Global Gateway programme. The discussion focused on a potential initiative aimed at strengthening energy resilience for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through decentralised solar photovoltaic systems combined with battery storage technologies. The concept seeks to explore practical approaches for improving the reliability of electricity supply for enterprise operations in environments affected by power instability.

The meeting brought together representatives of EBU Germany, the Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) in Zambia, JT Business Development, Cresco Innovations, and ICPE. The partners exchanged initial information on the project concept, potential pilot activities, and the preparation of the forthcoming proposal.

ICPE is participating in the initiative as a co-applicant and contributes to the development dimension of the proposed action, supporting cooperation between European technology providers and institutions in partner countries. The preparatory discussions mark the beginning of the proposal development process, with partners continuing coordination in the coming weeks.
