ICPE TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DHTI CONCLUDED

ICPE concluded a two-week training programme in partnership with the DHTI – Defence Headquarters Training Institute of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India marking the first collaboration between the two organisations and in the field of security and defence. A batch of 20 participants, Deputy and Joint Directors of the Armed Forces Headquarters are attending the ICPE Foreign Training Component of the Professional Development Programme, along with the course director, Mr Deepak K. Bist, DHTI. The programme came to ICPE at the initiative of Mr Rajesh Saxena, Director, DHTI who is a distinguished alumnus of ICPE.
At the Opening Ceremony, HE Mr Sarvajit Chakravarti, Ambassador of India was the guest of honour. ICPE Director General, Dr Anand N. Asthana, Mr Tone Slak, Deputy Director General, Defence Policy Directorate, MoD, and Col. Mitja Miklavec, MSc, Head of the Multilateral Relations and Defence Diplomacy Division, MoD also addressed the participants.
The major thrust of the programme was dedicated to policy formulation and analysis in defence management, especially the role of civilian personnel in the defence sector. During the programme, the participants had exposure to various entities of the Government of Slovenia, especially those within the Ministry of Defence. They also had the opportunity to visit and meet with representatives of the international organisations based in Vienna, Austria – the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The programme was prepared by Ms Sara Arko, Programme Manager, ICPE in consultation and partnership with the Ministry of Defence, as well as the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.

At the concluding ceremony Prof Dr Ernest Petrič was the guest of honour. Ms Tea Glažar, MSc, Head of International Cooperation and EU Office, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport also interacted with the officers.
