The International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE) participated in the 13th Slovenian Development Days, held from 14 to 17 October 2025 under the theme “Business in Support of Global Solidarity.” The annual event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, brought together government representatives, private sector actors, international organizations and NGOs to discuss the evolving role of development cooperation and humanitarian partnerships in achieving global sustainability.
The programme, among its many sessions, also featured the second part of the 3rd Slovenian Humanitarian Forum, held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, as well as a high-level panel discussion on “Development and Humanitarian Partnerships as a Business Opportunity” and a workshop on “Global Gateway: Innovative Mechanisms for Engaging the Private Sector in Development Efforts – Internationalisation of Slovenian Companies in Developing Countries.”
ICPE took part in the workshop “From Urgency to Sustainability: How the Private Sector can Help Deliver an Urgent Humanitarian Response and Long-term Recovery after Crises,” represented by Mr David Tavželj, Executive Director. The session, held on 17 October at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, explored effective models of cooperation between enterprises, government, and humanitarian actors, with participants from Slovenska karitas, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, ElevonX, and the Center for International Cooperation and Development (CMSR).
ICPE’s participation focused on the process of establishing partnerships in its Member States for development projects with private partners from Slovenia, actively involving them in the early stages of project design and implementation, identifying suitable local counterparts in the recipient country and building joint initiatives that can be scaled up and commercialized, following the conclusion of the pilot. ICPE also announced its intention to strengthen cooperation with the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs through the use of available development instruments, and actively contribute to the implementation of the Action Plan of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and ICPE, particularly relating to development cooperation in its Member States and enabling the promotion of Slovenia’s technological innovations and achievements.
