ICPE to Intensify Cooperation with Burkina Faso

On 23 June 2026, ICPE representatives Mr David Tavželj, ICPE Executive Director, Mr Jure Tomc, MBA, ICPE Advisor, and Dr Nenad Stanković, ICPE Representative in Vienna, met with H.E. Maimounata Ouattara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Vienna and Mr Aboubacar Adé Ouattara, Second Secretary.

The meeting followed the 15th Africa Day Conference held at Jable Castle on 2 June 2026 and provided an opportunity to discuss possible avenues for fostering cooperation between ICPE and Burkina Faso. ICPE presented its current project-oriented working approach, with particular attention to the identification of development priorities, the mobilisation of relevant technical expertise, and the preparation of practical initiatives in cooperation with public institutions, technology partners and implementation stakeholders.

Ambassador Ouattara noted that several of the project areas presented by ICPE may be relevant for Burkina Faso. It was discussed that, as a next step, the Embassy would share Burkina Faso’s development priorities with ICPE. On this basis, ICPE would explore, through its institutional and professional network, possible solutions, partners and implementation pathways in support of projected cooperation.

Ambassador Ouattara expressed openness to establishing working ties with ICPE and to continuing the dialogue on possible future institutional cooperation between Burkina Faso and the ICPE.
